Project #2

A.) Which artworks make an impact or impression on me? Why?
The first one that made impact on me was the Blooming City Marks by Jose Parla.
I really like this one a lot because of all the colors mixed together making this masterpiece and its a landscape of New York City and I'm going there in March so that made am impact on me also.
The second artwork that made an impact on me was Something About The Collapse Of Art and Language because of all the colors in the artwork. The artwork feels like there is so much life in it and I think that's why I like it so much.
B.) Which artworks do I feel a connection with? Why?
I felt a connection with the Artwork named 100 Cans by Andy Warhol because I love soup so much and I love Campbell's soup, that probably sounds a little weird but I do love soup a lot even though I don't eat soup that much.
The second artwork I had a connection was  The Yellow Christ by Paul Gauguin because I grew up going to a Catholic school all my life and learning about Jesus and his life and what his mission was, I'm glad I grew up being Catholic and learning about him.

C.) Which artworks would I like to know more about? Why?
The artwork I would like to know more about would be The Naked Eye Anthology by Erica Baum because I don't really know what is going on it, but I get that there is a meaning behind here but I don't really know what it is and I would like to know more about it.
The second artwork I would like to know more about would be Shark Girl by Casey Millard located in canal side right here in buffalo because I would like to know more about the meaning behind it and why it was put in canal side and why it is indefinitely put there.

You should list at least two different artworks for each question. (Total of 6 artworks)

  1. I like the pictures you had chosen for this project. The blooming city mark painting is truly interesting and beautiful and I could see why it made an impression on you. I also like your choice of pictures that you relate to, even though it is for simple reasons, I don't think art always needs to be deep all of the time to mean something.
