Logo

1. Discuss what you thought about creating your logo.
My thought was to do about my life and what is mostly its apart of and what I do. Creating it was so easy for me to do also. Everything I love is in this logo, it might not look to great but I believe that it does.
2. Describe the process: creative thinking skills and ideas you used in the logo creation.
So I started with the Best Western logo because that's my job and what I wanna do for the rest of my life, I then put hockey sticks and a puck because that's my passion and has been for a long time, I then thought of my puppy Riley shes a golden retriever and I love her, and finally I thought of where I spend most of my time going to school at Buffalo State.
3. What was the most important discovery you made in the creation of your logo?
That I made it about my life and that I really care about the things I put into it, and it made me realize some of things I wanna keep doing in my life.
4. What is the most important information you learned from watching the videos, power point, and reading material  for this project? What is your opinion of the videos?
The most important thing I learned about making logos was that it takes so much time and planning to make one logo and all the logos in the world and they all go through this process and that's pretty cool to know about. I also didn't know what navy blue was till now. The videos were really good and well because they explained things so well.

Project #2

A.) Which artworks make an impact or impression on me? Why?
The first one that made impact on me was the Blooming City Marks by Jose Parla.
I really like this one a lot because of all the colors mixed together making this masterpiece and its a landscape of New York City and I'm going there in March so that made am impact on me also.
The second artwork that made an impact on me was Something About The Collapse Of Art and Language because of all the colors in the artwork. The artwork feels like there is so much life in it and I think that's why I like it so much.
B.) Which artworks do I feel a connection with? Why?
I felt a connection with the Artwork named 100 Cans by Andy Warhol because I love soup so much and I love Campbell's soup, that probably sounds a little weird but I do love soup a lot even though I don't eat soup that much.
The second artwork I had a connection was  The Yellow Christ by Paul Gauguin because I grew up going to a Catholic school all my life and learning about Jesus and his life and what his mission was, I'm glad I grew up being Catholic and learning about him.

C.) Which artworks would I like to know more about? Why?
The artwork I would like to know more about would be The Naked Eye Anthology by Erica Baum because I don't really know what is going on it, but I get that there is a meaning behind here but I don't really know what it is and I would like to know more about it.
The second artwork I would like to know more about would be Shark Girl by Casey Millard located in canal side right here in buffalo because I would like to know more about the meaning behind it and why it was put in canal side and why it is indefinitely put there.

You should list at least two different artworks for each question. (Total of 6 artworks)

Module Four - Color Theory & Value Scale

1. Discuss what you thought about creating the Value Scale and Color Wheel.
I thought it was fun to do to the value scale but when I did the color wheel I didn't know I really needed paint or it would have been better to do it with paint and it would have turned out better too but I did it with what I had.
2. Which media did you enjoy working with the best and why?
I like coloring but I also love using paint but I didn't have any to work with.
3. What was the most important discovery in the creation of these studies?
That the colors were learned about when we were kids weren't really the primary colors and those colors are.
4. What is the most important information you learned from watching the videos for this project? What is your opinion of the videos?
The most important information I learned was about the primary colors I believe because now I know what the real primary colors are and not the ones I learned when I was younger. I thought the videos told the information that we really needed to know and not information that we really didn't need at all, I don't like when videos do this.

Week 3

1. Describe Color and it's effects on emotions. Use the appropriate vocabulary of color in your posting.
When color is in isolation our eyes make us think all the colors are reacting to each other or in a illusion our eyes play a trick on us because of it reacting to all the different things we are seeing.
2. What is a theoretical aspect of color that most intrigues/fascinates you? Why?
I really like that all these different things can trick your eyes just by a different color on the picture and it fascinates me because different things can be made and only certain people know that little picture is in the bigger picture.
3. In the Color video, what made the biggest impact on you in regards to color and it's effects on emotions?
Something beautiful can come out of pretty much nothing and a perfect art work is made for us to see. Any color can be used to make anything pretty much and I love that.
4. In the Feelings video, what made the biggest impact on you in regards to color and it's effects on emotions?
I love that that guy felt so good about the feeling he got when he started to make a statue and make me really think that he was making one from the heart.

Week two

1. For each video and article list/discuss the key concepts you learned.
In the first video I learned that anything can be turned into art and that the artists back in time really took their work serious and also loved what they were creating. It helped me understand what was going on during these centuries and what they went through to show their work to others and what they came up with.
In the second video I learned how science plays a huge part in how many artists used it to make their creations.
2. Which philosopher's theory on aesthetics do you feel is most important? Be sure to mention the philosophers name, era (time in history), and contribution to the aesthetic theory in your response.

Immanuel Kent I believe is the most important because he was the most inferential and it was in the eighteenth century. His contribution was that he argued that our judgement is that it enables us to have experiences of beauty and grasp those experiences as a part of order and purpose.
3. What do you think about Changeux and Ramachandran scientific view of aesthetics and art? What was the most interesting fact you discovered from each speakers lecture?

I thought their view was very interesting to learn about, homo Sapains was pretty cool because it was about people and how they were related to art. I believe that they talked from their heart and knew what they were talking about.
4. How do the videos and article relate to the readings in the text?

They related in a couple different ways. Because they mostly all talked about the same things the two videos talk about and how art was related to all these different facts. And showed how the speakers knew what they were talking about.
5. What is your opinion of the films and article? How do they add depth to understanding of the topics in your reading in the text?
I believe they gave me a different look on art and how its all related together with each other. There's different things that can be related together also. They go into depth on things that you wouldn't know about too.
